Psychological Wellness
I believe that Psychological wellness:
-
involves integration of physical, emotional, social, cognitive, biological and spiritual attributes.
-
is achieved through facilitated self-discovery in an environment that models acceptance, compassion, empathy and safety.
-
requires individuals' awareness that they are active agents in their own psychological growth.
-
is dependent on healthy styles of thinking/understanding of cognitive, emotional and behavioural relationships.
-
is achieved when meaning making can emerge out of life's struggles and problem stories.
-
is grounded in individuals' desires to be valued, heard, feel a sense of belonging, self worth and purpose.
-
is dependent upon positive human relationships.
-
is reliant on awareness of personal strengths and competencies.
-
is a continual process of self-discovery.
